Apparently, we have William Shatner to thank for everything from the microchip to cell phones. (And somewhere George Takei is fuming.)
At least that’s what the History Channel wants viewers to believe with the new two-hour special “How William Shatner Changed the World,” hosted by the humble man himself and based on his own book “I’m Working on That.”
“How William Shatner Changed the World,” airing on the History Channel on March 12, explores how the sci-fi inventions in the original “Star Trek” series have influenced modern technology, such as the space shuttle, mobile phones, and the microchip.
Star Trek’s George Takei and Nichelle Nichols are also interviewed.
(I wonder if Bill Shatner had anything to do with the invention of Rogaine.)
