Transformers Movie Has Its Star

“Transformers: The Movie” is firming up. Shia LaBeouf ("The Greatest Game Ever Played") has been cast as the star in the film, which is expected in theaters in July 2007. He’ll play the hero Sam.

The $100-million movie, which is being directed by Michael Bay, centers on the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. Shooting begins in late May.

The rest of the cast should be announced soon.

How about Gary Oldman as Megatron? Dude can play anything.
