TV Land announced on Friday an ambitious slate of programming designed to cater to America’s 78 million Baby Boomers that includes upcoming originals, newly acquired programming, and an expanded roster of popular movies on the network’s schedule.

Back to the Grind, a new half-hour series airing on October 10, 2007, takes iconic TV performers like Loni Anderson to Harry Anderson and other actors and has them perform the real-life version of the jobs their characters held on classic TV shows like WKRP in Cincinnati and Night Court.

The network also has a pilot in development called The Story Of …, a show that takes a fun, in-depth look at fads, trends, and pop cultural phenomena fueled by the TV Generation. From disco music to physical fitness crazes to plastic surgery, each installment will explore one pop culture topic. Airdate: to be announced.

Beginning Friday, April 6, 2007, TV Land will dedicate Friday nights at 10 PM (ET/PT) as the network’s signature movie block featuring some of the most beloved, enduring, and iconic movies, including The Blues Brothers Movie; Beetlejuice; Caddyshack; Fletch; National Lampoon’s Vacation; Pleasantville; White Men Can’t Jump; Working Girl; Young Frankenstein, and several others.

In related news, President Bill Clinton made a guest appearance at TV Land’s annual advertisers’ presentation in New York on Friday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The former President, who was invited by TV Land to address the channel’s move to become a network for the aging baby boomers, admitted to enjoying classic television shows like All in the Family, I Love Lucy, and The Andy Griffith Show. He also said that he’s catching up on Bonanza at night while trying to write a book on citizen activism.

At the appearance, Clinton mentioned that he likes 24 and Grey’s Anatomy, and that he appreciates Boston Legal for the dynamic between stars William Shatner and James Spader.
