Neil Jordan will adapt and direct the thriller Heart-Shaped Box, based on the novel by Joe Hill, son of horror fiction icon Stephen King, according to Variety.
Hill’s novel, about an aging rocker with an interest in the macabre who buys a suit online that contains a murderous ghost, was published by William Morrow/HarperCollins in February. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the film rights a year ago based on a short logline and an early peek at the prose.
Jordan (The Crying Game) will next direct Jodie Foster in The Brave One, to be released by Warners September 14.
