Doctor Strange: The Oath
, the 5-issue Marvel Comics series by Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin, is now available in trade paperback.
You can read issue #1 for free at marvel.com here, and I highly suggest you do.
Be on the lookout for more Doctor Strange at Marvel Comics when The Hulk returns from exile to enact revenge on those who banished him — namely Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Black Bolt, and one Doctor Strange — during the upcoming World War Hulk event.
In related news, marvel.com has posted today five new wallpaper themes from their upcoming Doctor Strange animated DVD (due out August 14).
UPDATED: Marvel.com just updated their Doctor Strange animated DVD page to include a First Look at the movie — a 7-minute video. The first minute is interviews with the creators; the rest is the opening scene from the movie.
Brian K. Vaughan is the man. I’d feel better about the Doctor Strange movie if it was written by Vaughan, and I’d feel a whole lot better if Shia LeBeouf is NOT cast as Yorick in the “Y: The Last Man” movie.
I have long been a Doctor Strange fan and with the exception of that AWFUL TV movie (The one where the “Ancient One” was caucasian and the crazy lady from “Play Misty For Me” was Morgan LeFey), I have been a proud supporter of every Dr. Strange project I can find — including those “Marvel Fanfare” issues that were a “Spagetti Western” with Doc Strange and Nick Fury. When I was growing up, Doc was MY Harry Potter. Blogzarro never fails to entertain and I really enjoyed “The Oath” review.
I hope the animated Dr. Strange is worthy of Doc’s legacy.
Thanks, Tim.
I always enjoy your reviews as well.
