EW has a first look at first look at Christian Bale’s new Batman suit in the upcoming sequel The Dark Knight (in theaters July 18, 2008).
The costume’s new-and-improved features can’t really be seen too well in this photo of the suit (shown here at right). Anyone with a print copy of the magazine, turn to p. 12. It has the same interview with the costume designer Lindy Hemming that gives tidbits on the new suit.
For instance, “The razors on Batman’s forearms are actually part of the suit. (His gloves tuck into the sleeves of the suit.) They’re retractable, and yep, they’re weapons.”
The print photo takes up about two-thirds of the page and shows a lot more detail and also points out with numbers the new features of the suit.

I guess at least it doesn’t have nipples. But really, did it need changing at all? I understand the cowl issue with restricted head movements but everything else could have been kept the same, surely?
