Filming will begin in January 2008 on The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the third film installment of The Chronicles of Narnia franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
As previously reported, Michael Apted — whose credits include The World Is Not Enough and Gorky Park, as well as the first three episodes of the HBO dramatic series Rome — will direct Dawn Treader.
Apted takes over the helm from Andrew Adamson, who directed the first two films, the second of which, Prince Caspian, arrives in theaters May 16, 2008. Adamson will stay on for the third film as a producer.
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 1, 2009.
