Apple Trailers has the extended trailer as well as a shorter one labeled Trailer A for Danny Boyle’s upcoming scifi thriller Sunshine.
The film takes place 50 years from now where our Sun is dying. A spaceship with a crew of eight carrying a device that will breath life back into the star is mankind’s last hope. But deep into the crew’s voyage when they’re out of radio contact with Earth, their mission begins to unravel.
Sunshine, which stars Chris Evans, Cillian Murphy, and Michelle Yeoh, hits theaters July 20, 2007.
Now the trailer looks good, don’t get me wrong – but why is it that a majority of sci-fi movies have to have horror elements, or be outright horror movies? What, in this case, is the point in turning something that could be an excellent drama about the crew members coming to terms with their own position into a slasher flick?
Annoys me every time that sort of thing happens… though admittedly, that doesnt mean that those movies need to be bad, it just seems a waste of a good idea.
