Fox Movie Studios has made plans to hold the premiere for their upcoming The Simpsons Movie in the fictional family’s real live hometown of Springfield. The question everyone’s asking is which one of the fourteen participating “Springfields” do they hail from?
To answer this question Fox, is holding a contest to decide which city will have that dubious honor. For the competition, each city submitted 3-5 minute video demonstrating its “Simpsons spirit.” The winning Springfield will host the premiere of The Simpsons Movie, which opens in theaters on July 27, 2007.
The voting opens to the public online at thesimpsons.usatoday.com on July 2 with the winning city to be announced on or around July 10. (Note, don’t bother clicking the link til July 2, as there’s nothing on the page yet.)
