This could be a contemporary version of The Beast of Averoigne by Clark Ashton Smith. HP Lovecraft spin-off / rip-off. An Alien riding a comet that crashes on earth / earthquake / explosion in the beginning, the spinning roaring sounds / flying black creature with super-powers and red eyes?….perhaps? End of the world Ma! Perhaps?

Yeah, I mention that in the article. Appears that JJ wants this to be super hush-hush. The rumors are already flying far afield, with some saying it’s going to be a remake of the Japanese monster flick The Host, and others saying it could even be a Godzilla redux. Who knows?

Turns out, “Cloverfield” isnt the title. According to IMDb, that was the fake working title. I also found out that they are keeping everything very secret, from cast to plot… something sounds fishy.
