The official site for the upcoming New Line Cinema action film Shoot ‘Em Up has a red-band trailer online for viewing. I have to say, this is the way R-rated flicks should be previewed.
Once again, I put in mom’s age verification information and bam! I was in. Once you gain access to the red-band content area of the site, you can also view the really cool animatic trailer.
Yahoo! Movies has a clip of an interview they did with writer/director Michael Davis and star Clive Owen. Davis said in the interview that he animated out 15 minutes of the movie with 17,000 hand-drawn drawings to create a shot for shot vision of the film, which he then showed to New Line.
Shoot ‘Em Up Monica Belluci and Paul Giamatti who hunts them throughout the bowels of the city. The film hits theaters on September 7, 2007.
Is there anyway for anybody outside of the USA to view the restricted content? It requires a zipcode and checks government databases.
@Chris
I’ve sent an inquiry regarding this to New Line. When they respond, I’ll let you know what they have to say.
**UPDATE**
My contact at New Line Cinema sends apologies, as unfortunately due to MPAA regulation their one and only means of age verification has to be a U.S. driver’s license number. So the Red Band trailer on the official website is sadly U.S. only.

Quite simple really… not much of a real age verification.
