Lucasarts, the game publishing arm of George Lucas’s empire, and TT Games announced this week Lego Indiana Jones: The Videogame [working title], to be released next summer.
The game is being developed by Traveller’s Tales, the same studio that developed the Lego Star Wars games. Those two games were hilarious and tremendously fun, so Indy fans should have plenty to look forward to as the developer takes on all three of the Indy movies.
Lego has made a concerted effort in recent years to expand its brand into the videogame market. In addition to this new Indy game and the two Lego Star Wars games, there is a Lego Batman in the works for release next year and a massively multiplayer online Lego game. There have also been a couple of Bionicle games, although they have not been nearly as well-received as the Lego Star Wars series.
Lego Indiana Jones is scheduled to be released on PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 in summer of 2008. Check back here then for our review. In the meantime, go watch the game trailer here.
