In my opinion, this is THE movie of 2007, and one of the best movies I've yet to come across.

Nice review Jerry. This was indeed one of my favorite movie. Before the devil knows you're dead was another one. Both were at the NYFF but I missed this one.

I totally agree with you when you write "A Coen Brothers film is a unique piece of work that one would never confuse with any other filmmakers." Very few filmmakers have a style that is immediately recognizable. To me at least. But here, just the trailer made me think of Fargo: the style, the tone, the characters, the atmosphere, ...

It is interesting to me that you see Anton Chigurh at the heart of the movie. I'd say Llewelyn Moss is. I've asked a few people who they thought was the central character: the answer is often different. My colleague John even said the Tommy Lee Jones character was the pivotal one. I am thinking we could put a shrink on the subject to analyse what those different picks mean.

Is it only me or this film had a lot of black humour in it? Some stuff were pretty funny, even if in a chilling way. I am thinking of a little details like the way Bardem's character takes off his socks, or checks out the bottom of his soles when leaving the house of Brolin's wife.

i REALLY hope this is a great movie..i can't wait to see it...the coen's haven't made a good movie since "o brother", so i'm looking for a major rebouond. Javier is one of the best actors in showbiz, josh brolin has been great in everything i've seen him in this year...hopefully, this wraps him up for at least a supporting actor nod. i really, really want this to be good, since american gangster was so disappointing (the whole thing had a whole "been there, done that" feeling.)
