Whatever you may think of regency novels, they were invented by GH, who set a standard no bodice ripper writer (and many of them are my friends) has met, or even tried to meet.

Her personal Library consisted of over one thousand books from the period, in addition to an extensive collections of periodicals from the era.  Her research was so thorough that her descriptions of the Battles of Quatre Bras (16 June), Ligny (16 June), Waterloo (18 June), and Wavre (18 June-19 June) in her novel
&quot;An Infamous Army&quot; is/was actually used at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), commonly known simply as Sandhurst, as educational material.
