Three? This is far from a knock against those, because I'm sure they deserve the recognition... but, what about the rest of the year? Were there really NO brilliant movies released earlier in the year? Or was it just so long ago that nobody remembers how good they were? What’s interesting to me is that all the obvious front runners (re: every single flick nominated for Best Film) were released in the last… what… two months? Three?

This is far from a knock against those, because I’m sure they deserve the recognition… but, what about the rest of the year? Were there really NO brilliant movies released earlier in the year? Or was it just so long ago that nobody remembers how good they were?
