Great, it’s time to evacuate New York City … again. We haven’t had enough of that lately.
In the teaser trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s latest offering, The Happening — which you can watch here after the jump — that’s actually what we see. Some kind of strange epidemic hits the city, causing people to kill themselves.
Why?
We don’t know, but there is an evacuation of NYC in this paranoid thriller starring Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel, and John Leguizamo
Shyamalan’s first R-rated film, which opens in theaters June 13, 2008, is said to be about a family on the run from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity.
After 20th Century Fox’s The Happening, Shyamalan will write, direct, and produce Avatar: The Last Airbender for Paramount.

Looks like another great thriller from Night. Can’t wait to see it.
Lemme guess…
The virus is actually werewolves shunk down to the cellular level.
And the only doctor who can cure it is Shyamalan himself.
And someone cries.
Sweet Jesus, I hate Shyamalan. He’s a monocle and a persian cat away from being a real-life Bond Villain.
Royce may be right, but it is an effective trailer.
It better be good dangit.
