Variety reports that Mila Kunis (Family Guy, That ’70s Show, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) has joined the cast of the video game adaptation of Max Payne. She will be playing the female lead who’s an assassin out to get back at those who murdered her sister. She teams up with Max Payne (being played by the recently very busy Mark Wahlberg), a detective and victim of a murdered family whose out solving all sorts of murders.
I’ve played very little of the Max Payne games and can’t say much about it or how this movie might end up. All that I do know is that it has a very strong noir essence and is violent. We’ll see how that’s eventually translated to the screen, as we all know the track record of video game movies.
Max Payne is filming right now and set for an October 17, 2008 release.
DarkZero has a set photograph from the production, giving us a first look at Mr. Payne. I have a feeling the final product may have a more Sin City look to it though.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOT MONA, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
she’s so cute, cute as a button
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Yeah, she really doesn’t fit as Mona. For one thing, that squeaky little voice of hers is decidedly anti-noir. Very strange choice. But then, gamers long ago gave up any hope of game movies being any good.
@Slayve
Silent Hill! SILENT HILL!!!!
(and, shit, 30 Days of Night is sort of the movie Resident Evil SHOULD have been, but with different monsters)
