I'm with NeverWanderer on this one. I don't know what you naysayers have been smoking, but I don't want any part of it. The CGI in the first Hulk was done by ILM, the best effects house in the world, except possibly for WETA. Hell, ILM practically invented modern special effects. The CGI they did in Ang Lee's Hulk is still some of the best character CGI ever done, with the possible exceptions of Gollum and King Kong.

I'm not sure what you're expecting here, but the CGI in this trailer looks fine to me. It doesn't look as good as in the first movie, but then, it's being done by Rhythm & Hues this time around, the FX studio that gave us Garfield. They're a decent enough studio, but I'm not sure they're up to the task of taking over from ILM. Still, I'm optimistic about this film mostly because of Norton and the story.

Dude... say what you will about how the Hulk looks in either movie... I realize there were moments of the first movie where the animation was obvious...

But "technology isn't there yet"?

Gollum.

Hi.

Technology was there six years ago.

Personally, I'm willing to suspend disbelief for a movie like this, or LotR, or Transformers, or King Kong, or Spiderman, or Star Wars (well... most of Star Wars), or Jurassic Park... I'm okay. I can except the fictional dream. What I want is for the Hulk to be translated to screen in a way that is accurate to the comics. I want the size, the weight, the presence, the depth. I want my angry green giant!

First movie gave me that. Second one could very well do it again. It may not be a great film in the end, but I'm pretty confident the ONE thing it will pull off is showing me the Hulk. Like I said, the first movie did that for me.

I just think it's amazing that the bar for CGI has been set so high that such obviously amazing artistry can be passed off as substandard now-a-days. This may still need some blending elements, but look at the lighting on the Hulk as he's walking toward the camera. Look at the way the firelight plays on his torso. Freeze-frame that shit... LOOK at that. That's talent. That's skill.

Far from sucks, my friends. Not perfect. Not yet. But far, far from sucks.

when will they realized that technology isn't to the point where this film can possibly be pulled off.

I'D RATHER WATCH A DEAF BODYBUILDER IN GREEN PAINT AND PURPLE BUGLE BOYS then watch another horrible CGI filled movie.

Eve, I'm with you 100% on the CGI here (and in Lee's HULK). Hopefully three months will give them some time to polish everything up.

I HATED the CGI in the first HULK movie and I'm not too crazy about it here either. I kinda dig the end of the trailer where Hulk and Abomination are about to go at it, mainly because the parts with Edward Norton were, well, kinda snoozy Zzzzz.... Sorry, I love Eric Bana and thought he was basically the best part about the first Hulk. Norton, hmm, I'm not feelin' him yet. I hope that changes, but so far, nope. And Liv Tyler, is she just going to have her weepy Arwen face on through this entire movie?

They're keeping Elfman??

YES!!!!

His first Hulk score is by far the best work he's ever done. (yeah, I said it)

As for the trailer... Looks interesting! I like how they've made the hulk a little more badass (sort of the way Prince of Persia went badass after the first game), but his body is WAY too ropey. He looks like a grotesque body builder. I prefer the smoother, sleeker physique from the first movie.
