Honestly, the movie is very, very good… as a stand-alone piece. My biggest issue was that all the viral marketing that had people frothing at the mouth to see the movie amounted to nothing once the movie actually hit.

It’s a disaster movie. Not a giant monster conspiracy movie. There is no big secret.

It’s just a monster movie.

A very GOOD monster movie.

As long as you go in expecting that, and nothing more, you wont be disappointed.

My theory is this — the majority of people who bitch about a movie don’t do it because they truly dislike it, but rather because they see how much attention it is getting and how many people like it and they feel that saying they hated it will get them all sorts of silly attention.

Basically, a whole lot of Mommy issues.

My favorite is everyone who compain about the ending. Not giving anything away, but does everyone forget that this is someones “personal footage” and may not have a constructed plot, beginning and end? I’m pretty sure that’s the idea behind the “personal footage” style of film making that’s grown oh-so-popular.

Were people really looking for Matthew Broderick to show up for another MSG battle?
