News to me and maybe to many of you, is that Marvel’s Ultimate Universe will be getting a crossover event all of its own, coming later this year. Ultimatum will be written by Jeph Loeb and illustrated by David Finch, and will appear in the pages of Marvel’s Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Fantastic Four.

However, before we get anywhere near Ultimatum, Ultimate Origins will hit stores in June. To be written by Brian Bendis and illustrated by Butch Guice, it is supposed to lead in to the crossover event, and is being billed as “the beginning of the end for the Ultimate Universe.”

In celebration of the upcoming Origins, Marvel has released its “Top Ten reasons that Ultimate Origins will be the Ultimate starting point for the biggest event in the Ultimate Universe!” Click the image at right for the full list with all the teasers and hints that we’ve come to love and/or hate.
