Video: Harrison Ford on ‘The View’

Empress Eve   |    |

Week of Geek: Indiana Jones

IndyHarrison Ford made an appearance on yesterday’s episode of The View, promoting Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

You can watch a 7-minute clip from Ford’s interview segment here below.

Before you watch the video, be aware that this is The View and that you’ll surely find it as painful to watch as I did. Besides that obvious fact that the hosts of the popular ABC talk show are probably the worst interviewers ever — and forcing their guests to sit sandwiched between them on a too-small couch where they constantly have to turn their head each way to address the different hosts — Ford basically dumbs it down for the audience.

When asked to tell the audience what the new Indy movie is about, Ford evades the question by saying that “Stuff happens” and when further pressed, that “It’s a long and complicated story … you don’t need to know.”

View host Whoopi Goldberg then follows up by asking if it’s true that Ford came up with the idea to shoot the swordsman in that famous scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Just listen to her try to ask this question, it’s like she’s never seen this scene and is faking her way through the question. Way to prepare, Whoopi!

I haven’t seen too many interviews with Ford promoting Crystal Skull, so I’m not sure if he’s punchy like this on all of them, or if it’s just because he’s on The View. In other interviews I’ve seen with him previous to Crystal Skull’s release he was always solemn and pensive. And when he’s being funny or playful, he’s still smart about it — not silly, like he is here.

See for yourself. Is it just me?

Is it just me or did Sherri Shepherd call him “Harriston” at about 7:01? He even looks over at her with an expression of confused disbelief.

Did that withered old clam say a, “GAY IDIOT”? I think a gay idiot would be any guy that watches The View! Who are these people the only one I recognize is Goldberg and why is she hanging with them. She broke and need $$$$ that bad?
