Academy Award-winning director Sydney Pollack died of cancer on Monday at his home in Los Angeles, according to the NY Times. He was 73.
No other information has been released at this time.
Pollack won the Academy Award for Best Director for the multi-Oscar-winning movie Out Of Africa. He also directed Oscar-nominated films such as Tootsie, The Way We Were, and The Yakuza.
The director has also acted in many films, and was most recently seen in Michael Clayton and Made of Honor. He also had a reoccurring guest star role on the NBC’s sitcom Will & Grace, where he played Will’s father, George Truman.
There are a lot of great films on his resume. It was surreal reading about while watching everyone go back and fourth about Indy 4 on the podcast.
