‘Transformers 2′ Is Rolling Out & Blowing Stuff Up

MajorJJH   |    |

JazzA lot of news jumped up out of nowhere over the past few days concerning Transformers 2. The sequel to the popular but polarizing 2007 film directed by Michael Bay will hopefully follow on from the small clip shown during the credits, showing us Starscream leaving Earth’s orbit in a hurry.

First off is the return of an Autobot many were resigned to see atop a scrap heap. Being torn in two by Megatron often has a debilitating effect on your future, but according to Transformers World 2005, the Pontiac Solstice that was Jazz’s vehicle prop arrived on the set of Transformers 2 earlier this week. And while this doesn’t 100 percent guarantee Jazz’s appearance, the fact that Darius McCrary, the voice of Jazz, is now on set adds a little bit more credibility to Jazz’s return.

Also returning are a few humans to join Shia LaBeouf, including Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, and John Turturro.

While the first three are pretty much a given, Turturro’s return has surprised some, considering the reception his role received in the last film. You either loved or hated the s7 agent, but for me, by the end of the film, I had come to see him as a little less annoying as his first appearance had led us to believe.

Lastly, and thanks to a resident in the vicinity of the former Bethlehem Steel site in Bethlehem, PA, via /Film, it looks like Michael Bay will be blowing shit up again! According a reader of /Film, who sent in a scanned copy of the letter neighboring residents were sent, filming activity will include “military helicopters, large scale pyrotechnics, prop guns and squibs, and large lights.”

We’ve seen from past evidence that Michael Bay not only has a love and passion for blowing shit up, but is inherently good at it, too!

I’m really looking forward to Transformers 2, because if nothing else, we’ve been promised more face time with the Transformers themselves! And while I’m a fan of Megan Fox (who ain’t?) and Josh Duhamel (again, let’s hear it?), it’s Starscream and Soundwave that I want to see!
