After the recent news that Jake Gyllenhaal had landed the lead role in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, two more big names have now been cast!
Sir Ben Kingsley (BloodRayne) has joined, along with the always great Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2), who will be playing, Sheik Amar, a mentor to our hero prince. Kingsley’s role has yet to be revealed.
I was first skeptical of the Gyllenhaal casting, but these two names certainly add a lot of interest to the project. As previously reported, Gemma Arterton will also star in the Mike Newell-directed film, which Jerry Bruckheimer is producing.
Prince of Persia is scheduled to being filming in July in the U.K. and Morocco.
