Tarantino Starts ‘Inglorious Bastards’?

The Movie God   |    |

TarantinoRecently, word got out from Cannes that Quentin Tarantino was finally going to begin production on his LONG-discussed World War II drama, Inglorious Bastards. As with most people, I was very skeptical of this news, so I held off on writing about it; but now, even more news has rained down from this topic, and it might just be enough to start getting excited again.

The Quentin Tarantino Archives has reported that Tarantino canceled his appearance at the Rolling Roadshow “Leone Edition” in Almeria, Spain, because he had cleared his schedule to begin preproduction on Inglorious Bastards.

Quick, simple, and assuring!

When I first started hearing about this movie way back, I was buzzing about it. There was an insane list of rumored actors for it (Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, Michael Madsen); it was in the same vein as The Dirty Dozen; it had a cool-ass name… how could one not drool profusely? But alas, all it ever ended up being was chit-chat and rumors among Q.T.’s others happenings. And we wept.

All this new talking is a little goosebump-inducing, BUT I’m still so, so skeptical about it. I need more. I need to see castings and set photos and all that jazz. If Tarantino really plans on having this at Cannes next year, these things should come to be very quickly!

Stay tuned ladies and gents. Oh, yes… stay tuned!
