Any other year The Incredible Hulk could have been one of the biggest blockbuster movies of the U.S. summer, and one of the year’s favorite comic book movies. Sadly, this year, The Incredible Hulk goes up against Iron Man and The Dark Knight. However, that won’t stop us from reporting on it!
Probably the biggest news is the release of the latest Incredible Hulk TV spot, featuring everyone’s favorite — Iron Man, Tony Stark, which you can watch here below! We knew that this cameo was coming (see NYCC: ‘Iron Man’ Crossover Scene Revealed in ‘The Incredible Hulk’ Trailer), but it is nice to see the Tony Stark that I remember from the theaters.
Another blessing is the small scene we see with Liv Tyler and Edward Norton at the end. Some of the trailers so far have had me worrying about casting Liv as Betty Ross, however that one scene has managed to put my worries to death, at least for now.
TV Spot
Taking a quick look around the buzzosphere, and there are a whole heap of reviews for the movie that are not signaling a wonderful start for the movie. We’ll wait until next week’s Box Office Buzz though to sort out just how well it does on its opening weekend (starting in the U.S. on the 13th).
That’s something I wasn’t expecting. I figured the Stark cameo would be post-credits like the Fury cameo in Iron man… but… apparently… it’s not a secret anyone is trying to keep.
Hunh.
Unless they’re just SO desperate to sell this movie that they’re willing to throw a 2 minute surprise cameo that has NO bearing on the rest of the movie WHATsoever into the commercials in the hopes of getting Iron Man’s audience into the theaters.
