Millennium Films — who are apparently just buying up titles left and right to remake — have now announced that they will be taking a stab at everyone’s favorite fashionable sword-swingin’ trio — The Three Musketeers.
The plot will follow how the 17th century three musketeers Porthos, Aramis and Athos — the characters created in 1844 by author Alexandre Dumas — first joined together (character/story origins are the “in” thing, if you weren’t aware!).
D’Artagnan, who becomes the fourth member of the Musketeers, might either be introduced later in the film, or in an eventual sequel.
The film will be produced by Joe Gatta and Boaz Davidson.
Something tells me Oliver Platt won’t be cast in this one; shame.
Millennium currently has a working line-up consisting of a new files for Conan the Barbarian, Buck Rogers, Hercules, Red Sonja, and maybe even a few more Rambo’s, who knows!
