Geeks of Doom Invade SDCC 2008

Jesus Hates Zombies - Those Slack Jaw BluesWe’re breaking news already. Look at us go!

Good friend of Geeks of Doom and creator of the mega-hit indie trade Jesus Hates Zombies: Those Slack-Jaw Blues, Stephen Lindsay, has informed us that negotiations for a French language edition of Jesus Hates Zombies have been completed.

But that’s not all!

The insanely, amazingly, awesomely cool cherry on top of this upcoming JHZ ‘Crème Brûlée’ is that the french publishers have taken serious initiative and signed on award-winning comic cover artist Arthur Suydam to create original piece of Zombie artwork for the cover of the French release. Anyone out there who’s familiar with Arthur Suydam’s work will agree that NO ONE does zombies better than him these days.

Suydam happens to be my absolute favorite comic cover artist working today. He has proven to have the power to make me buy a comic book solely based on his cover art. That’s freakin’ powerful, man. And as a huge fan of both Arthur Suydam and Stephen Lindsay’s work, this news couldn’t make the comic geek in me any happier!

For those unfamiliar… Arthur Suydam’s work has not only graced, but personified, the smash-hit series Marvel Zombies. His work also extends to countless Marvel series such as Black Panther, Ghost Rider, Hellstorm, Moon Knight and Wolverine, as well as several of Dynamite Entertainment’s titles including Raise the Dead, Red Sonja, and Savage Tales.

Stephen Lindsay’s work includes kid-traumatizing webcomic Slightly Askew Adventures of Inspector Ham & Eggs, which was just picked up for publication by Ape Entertainment (smart move, guys), John Gunner - Galaxy Runner, Happy Panda Funtime Show, and JHZ follow-up Jesus Hates Zombies: Yea, Though I Walk Vol. 1, which unlike the first trade anthology, features one continuous story arc for the J-man and a special appearance by Abe Lincoln who, I’m told, Hates Werewolves.
