You just can’t seem to get away from Star Wars: the Clone Wars news these days, not that you’d want too. For me, every little bit of info, every image, is getting me more and more excited. I’m a Star Wars nut, yeah, maybe I’m biased, but still, this has to be exciting for you.
For many of us Star Wars fans, when George Lucas said that he had finished making the movies, we were happy. Why? Look at what he did with the prequel! I mean”¦ for heaven’s sake”¦ Jar Jar?
But there was something in me that died that day. Something that told me I was never going to be lining up for another Star Wars movie, and that part of me was sad. We knew that he’d probably do TV; that was OK. We then found out he was doing this Clone Wars TV series. That was even better! Then we found out it was all going to kick off with a movie!
“He was ready to tell the stories,” said producer Catherine Winder told Sci Fi Wire, speaking of Lucas’s desire to come back to the big screen. “And it’s amazing how he can just start riffing on some of these characters that you may have only seen for a brief moment in one of the live-action films. And all of the stuff that will come out from him. He just knows this inside and out.”
Something we learned out of the Clone Wars panel that they held at San Diego Comic Con, and Winder reinforces, is that the series is going to be about the “personal stories.” “It’s dramatic, and there’s comedy. … It’s all kinds of stories mixed into one, which is what Star Wars is all about.”
And to commemorate all this Star Wars goodwill, TV Guide has got some fancy schmancy covers lined up for their next issue (August 7). A total of four covers will be available, each affixed with a CD-ROM that containing sneak peeks at the TV series, behind the scenes footage, on-camera commentary with George Lucas and director Dave Filoni, and a photo gallery.
Either way, August is finally here and that leaves me less than two weeks to countdown until The Clone Wars hits theatres near me.

I’m excited, too, but be prepared for some child humor involving a certain baby Hutt and some stupid Battle Droids.
