FOX News has shown the first trailer for spoof man David Zucker’s (Airplane) upcoming political bash, An American Carol. Watch it here below.
The film stars Kevin Farley (Chris’s brother) as a filmmaker spoof on Michael Moore who’s running around doing… political stuff. As the title would suggest, it’s in the same vein as A Christmas Carol where Michael Malone is visited by some ghosts like General Patton (Kelsey Grammer) and George Washington (Jon Voight). There’s also a lot of other big names involved, but that’s about as much as anyone really can stomach information wise.
The movie looks really just terrible but I decided to cover it because two things stood out to me I felt were worth note.
First, why the hell hasn’t the greedy Hollywood machine not tried to use Kevin Farley in more? I mean, seriously, watch this trailer and tell me it’s not borderline creepy to watch him. They could make any Chris Farley movie or sequel they ever wanted to and some wouldn’t even know the difference.
Most importantly though, at about the 1:22 mark of the trailer below, look closely now; is it just me, or is there a quote ABOUT David Zucker BY David Zucker in which he compliments David Zucker? I’m just curious.
Maybe the “in” people of the spoof genre Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer were busy making Foreign Movie (you know it’s coming) and were unfortunately not able to offer a friendly compliment to pump the movie up?
I usually abstain from being openly political but this has triggered strong feelings. I hope this movie tears apart the falsely coined ‘progressive’ liberalism . It is about time someone acknowledged Modern Liberalisms hypocrisy.

I actually saw a screening of this in Orange County. Its safe to say that is sucks ass. They chose to screen it in OC since its bastion of conservative republicans but isn’t “conservative Republicans” the antithesis of Comedy?? Anyway, slapstick and political messages do not go together in a movie. It was pretty bad. Leave the political messages out of “Naked Gun” movies.
I’ve seen several people comment on the quote about David Zucker by David Zucker. He’s not trying to pass that off as a legitimate quote — it’s a joke. If you’ve ever watched the credits of a ZAZ movie, you know they’re all big on that stuff. I suppose he could have made it more obvious by attributing it to “David Zucker’s Mom,” but Jerry probably wouldn’t like that.
