He has had his hands on so many projects, most that would surprise some people, that it is hard not to give him credit for being versatile. Yes, he has a style, but he has masked it well in such scores as To Die For, Delores Claiborne and Black Beauty. And if you want to hear something that isn't even remotely Elfman-ish, check out Sommersby. The man has skills, don't sell him short.
