Make sure you start watching at the beginning (Episode One: the End). It looks dated now but it has by far the best script. The last 2 or 3 series lacked the brilliantly sarcastic dialogue of the early ones, and suffered from trying to include as many (frankly shoddy) special FX as possible. Series IV and V probably hit the best balance between dialogue and action. A feature length episode is an excellent idea. And perhaps the BBC New Dr Who unit can help with the CGI this time.
