I watched The Forbidden Kingdom again, will even make a post about it. This is definitely a cool way to get into more martial arts movie. Any chance for GoD to do more features? Love that you have this one really!

Thanks for the info on Brandon, I never thought he had other movies. Well, if only he hadn't been killed...

@Jed

The Crow wasn't Brandon Lee's only movie. He was also in the AWESOME(!) Showdown in Little Tokyo with Dolph Lundgren, Rapid Fire, and the all but unseen yet super awesome low-buget film Laser Mission.

I agree that if Brandon hadn't been killed, he'd probably be the biggest action star in American cinema right around now. He's definitely still my favorite.

Hey Jed... Brandon Lee was actually in a few movies and TV episodes before THE CROW. Admittedly, they aren't great, but you can see he is definitely trying to find a persona outside the shadow of his father.

Check out his Hong Kong film debut LEGACY OF RAGE and RAPID FIRE.

Thanks for this great interview. I enjoyed it very much!

There is no way anyone can watch a kung fu movie without thinking of Jackie Chan and Jet Li, but there will always be a sort of homage for Bruce Lee, the master of all. I'm happy to have watched The Crowe, his son's only film, and wondered if he ever lived, could he be playing some of the best roles in martial arts film?

While both Li and Chan are the 'stars' of the movie, it seems Michael Angarano is the surprise star, quite good in most of his scenes. Chan's humour is a nice touch with Li's rather poker face but still Li knows a bit of comedy himself.

Great interview.
"It is simply a re-imagining, set in the controversial world of today’s security contractors like Blackwater."

I really have my doubts about it.
