The Office is my favorite TV sitcom and I have no problem watching episodes over and over again, and laughing every time.
In this week’s hilarious episode, the gang must sit through an HR “binder” meeting dealing with ethics in the workplace, at which Dwight proclaims that he never “steals” company time — meaning, that when he’s at the office, he’s always working. Finding this hard to believe, Jim decides to keep track with a stop watch all of Dwight’s in-office non-work activities, beginning with a 4-second yawn. Once Dwight realizes what Jim’s doing, he does everything possible to avoid being timed doing something non-work-related.
That’s when Jim turns on the taunt. In a classic geek-torture moment, Jim begins a conversation with Andy within earshot of Dwight about the current Battlestar Galactica series, making sure to give an inaccurate description of the show. Watch the scene here below and prepare to laugh your ass off at Dwight’s reaction.
Also, you can watch the entire episode, “Business Ethics,” in the video below, just drag the progress bar to the beginning.
In related news, NBC has launched The OfficeAddictionary, where users can add words, compete in a Word-Off, and participate in “There Ought To Be A Word!” This is the site to frequent to find out what a “time thief” is (which we learning about in “Business Ethics”) and the proper user for “shornt.”
I saw this scene, and it was really funny. The only thing that would have made it better would have been for Dwight to wind up losing it, spin around, and testify about all the things that make BSG AWESOME, time-stealing be damned!
