Casting Begins On ‘Clash Of The Titans’ & ‘War Of Gods’

The Movie God   |    |

ZeusThe march of the Greek mythology movies has begun to move forward as casting has started for both the Clash of the Titans remake and War of Gods.

For Clash of the Titans, Warner Bros. is in talks with Terminator Salvation and Avatar star Sam Worthington to star as Perseus. The movie will be directed by Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk) and is written by Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark).

Relativity Media is handling War of Gods and is talking to Henry Cavill (The Tudors) to star as Theseus. This one is being directed by Tarsem Singh (The Fall, The Cell) and is written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides.

These two will join the movie that everyone is so incredibly excited for, Brett Ratner’s God of War adaptation, in the Greek mythology rush. Obviously God of War will shatter every record that can be broken, but it will be interesting to see how close together they all come out and which good and which is terrible. With all expected to be heavily CGI-coated 300 followers, it will interesting to see. I wouldn’t be shocked to see one maybe step away from all of that and ease up on the green screen work to try and distinguish itself from the others, either. Though, with how much cheaper it is to go green, it’s not very likely.

Here’s hoping at least one is good!

That’s cool that Clash of the Titans is getting made again. I loved that movie when I was a kid. I know it marked the end of the era of weaker special effects, but I really enjoyed it anyway. Being a Star Wars kid did not spoil it for me at all.

Bring them on! Been waiting for stuff like this. So hows rays Wrath of the Titans shapping up?

  4. Comic Book Scientist Says:

While I’m a big fan of Ray H’s stop motion special effects (and Greek mythology pics in general), I actually dozed off in the middle of the original Clash of the Titans. Hopefully the remake will have considerably more punch.
