I’m not even sure this is newsworthy or not, but apparently Beyonce Knowles would like to play Wonder Woman and has even met with DC Comics and Warner Bros. about it.
The movie adaptation of Wonder Woman has been attempted and failed so many times that it’s pretty much made its vacation home in development hell. It’s right on a fiery lake of lava. Really, really nice spot.
Beyonce, while speaking to the LA Times, had this to say…
I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?
Also, speaking of her recent more dramatic roles in Dreamgirls and the upcoming Cadillac Records, she explained:
After doing these roles that were so emotional I was thinking to myself, ‘OK, I need to be a superhero.’ Although, when you think about the psychology of the heroes in the films these days, they are still a lot of work, of course, and emotional. But there’s also an action element that I would enjoy.
Anyways, the movie has been pretty much unheard of over the last few months or so with slight rumblings of who should be the mighty Wonder Woman popping up from time to time.
Personally, after all of the failed attempts, the stupidity of not using Joss Whedon and the inability to find someone worth casting, they should just turn their heads and walk away from that one. But you know Hollywood, if it may make money, they’ll try and shit it out, metaphorically speaking, of course.
Of all of the names I’ve heard this has to be one of the worst, and I’m not even a Wonder Woman fan. Beyonce is a very attractive star and she’s got the mediocre acting skills that I guess could be used in a superhero movie, but I think of her in that iconic outfit and I just think Halloween party (tis the season), but what do I know.
Truth is, there’s plenty of talented actresses out there — some have been mentioned for the role and some who have not — who much better fit the part, so considering this wouldn’t make any sense at all.
Plus, we all know who the best person for the part is… Olivia Munn! Right?
Maybe that’s just me.

I think Jessica Biel can pull this off. She has some “action packed-ness” in Blade 3 and I dont think any man would refuse seeing her in a wonder woman outfit..

Beyonce as wonder woman? Hell no! ive never cared for her acting. “A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?” Stick to the story (Princess Diana was an amazon). It should not be done just because beyonce wants to be wonder woman.
Olivia Munn would be perfect for this!!!!!! She is a talented actress and it’s about time we get to see her as a lead in a feature film.
