Last week, Summit Entertainment announced that they had picked up the rights to the sequels of Twilight and had secured screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg to script the second and third stories.
Today, Summit has announced that they’re officially greenlit production for New Moon, a big-screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s second novel in the Twilight Saga.
Summit has hit it big with the Twilight franchise, the first movie of which opened up this weekend in theaters to sold-out showings, and has already grossed over $7 million for midnight showings on Thursday, with a total of $35.7 million so far — a great achievement, considering the film’s budget was $37 million.
Of her experience with Summit, Meyers said, “I don’t think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment. I’m thrilled to have the chance to work with them again on NEW MOON.”
This is great news. All the books of the Twilight Saga should be made in to films. I want to be cast in one of the Twilight sequels can someone email me: Bonitaangel331@yahoo.com
