Not too long after The Day the Earth Stood Still tried to make you see their movie by proclaiming it the only place to see the new official trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, MySpace now has the trailer to check out in the comfort of your own home — far, far away from Keanu Reeves.

I was seriously skeptical of what this movie was going to become, but with the oddball hiring of Gavin Hood to direct and the sweet cast to play all these heroes we haven’t seen on film yet, I couldn’t help but be interested. With this trailer, though, I think that interest may have been transformed into a certain level of excitement. It looks really bad-ass, I have to admit. Really!

The movie stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Taylor Kitsch as Gambit, and Danny Huston as Stryker.

Wolverine is set for a May 1, 2009 release.
