Cinematic heavyweight tag team Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer will be executive producing a new show for HBO titled Cocaine Cowboys. Cold Case (also produced by Bruckheimer) creator and executive producer Meredith Stiehm will be writing the show.

Bruckheimer’s TV division is based out of parent Warner Bros. TV which will also handle the actual hands-on production if the show gets the greenlight.

The show will be based on a 2006 documentary of the same name about the early days of drug trafficking in Miami that we’re all so familiar with from numerous other movies such as Scarface and Blow.

They’ve also made a sequel to the documentary, but below is the trailer for the original for you to check out.

WARNING! There are a few pretty graphic images in this trailer and it’s real-life, so if you’re squeamish, don’t watch it. I tried to find a regular trailer, but I didn’t see one that wasn’t foreign.
