It’s ‘Star Wars: A Musical Journey’ NOT ‘Star Wars: The Musical!

Empress Eve   |    |

Earlier this month, I got a press release about Star Wars: A Musical Journey, a European tour featuring music from composer John Williams‘ score for all six Star Wars movies, but I never got around to posting about it.

Then I saw in some British tabloid that there will be some kind of Star Wars musical with singing and dancing Wookies and stormtroopers and I thought for sure there must be a mistake, because I think the press release about the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra would have mentioned something as bizarre as that on this tour.

I didn’t think much of it, til I started to see tons of other sites picking of the tabloid story and just a few hours ago, the story with all its fallacies made the front page of a certain popular social media site. Then I saw that Devin from CHUD figured out that one site made the Wookies joke and all the other sites picked it up — without looking at the primary source — thinking it was true.

So, all of you Star Wars fans in Europe, rejoice! A classy musical production featuring the score from the Star Wars saga, along with scenes from the movies, live narration, and memorabilia, is coming to a theater near you in April 2009.

See the full press release here below for details — oh, and the facts.
