Penguin has launched the cover for And Another Thing…, the new sequel to Douglas Adams‘ classic series Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
It was announced in September 2008 that Eoin Colfer, best-selling author of the Artemis Fowl novels, would pen the sixth Hitchhiker’s novel, to be published in October 2009.
Adams, whose final Hitchhiker’s novel was 1992’s Mostly Harmless, had said in interviews that he’d like to do a new Hitchhiker’s novel that would truly end the series.
‘I suspect at some point in the future I will write a sixth Hitchhiker book … I would love to finish Hitchhiker on a slightly more upbeat note. Five seems to be a wrong kind of number, six is a better kind of number.’
Adams died of heart failure in 2001 at age 49. It was his widow, Jane Belson, who sanctioned the new sequel, which will see the return of Arthur Dent, Zaphod Beeblebrox, and Marvin the robot.

I understand the another thing title for Hg2tg2,but not many people will be able to understand this. Why was the Restaurant at the End of the Universe title not used for the second movie title? I’m sure this title could have been worked into the movie, without any drastic legal implications. I’m sure the film will be great, as they usually are, but it is my opinion that the Restaurant title is more appropriate with fans and Guide loyalists. Either way, I will be the first one in line to buy my movie ticket. A TEA Toast to Douglas Adams. He will be greatly missed.
Douglas Adams will always be one of my favorite authors. The movie of Hitchhiker’s Guide was vomit inducing. I don’t believe for one moment that he sanctioned the story for that piece of shit that fucked up the brilliant original radio play/novel/BBC series. Obviously Ms. Belson is out for some quick cash.
