EW has a sneak peek of the one and only Leonard Nimoy in his guest-starring role on the season finale of Fringe, the series created by Star Trek director JJ Abrams.
In the season finale, which will air on Fox on May 12, 2009, Nimoy will appear as William Bell, the mysterious founder of Massive Dynamic. He’ll also come back to the show next season for at least two episodes.
Nimoy spoke about his Fringe character in an interview with EW:
What’s going to be explored is the story of his relationship with [former lab partner Walter Bishop], what he wants with [special agent Olivia Dunham], what he is intending to do with all this money and power that he has, what are his idiosyncrasies. I think we managed to get some interesting touches into the brief scene with Anna [Torv, who plays Olivia].

Okay, honestly who can say that they were overly surprised to learn that William Bell was the leader of ZFT? Shocker? I think not. The way they delivered that news was as if the plot had taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque, but no….. we made it to Pismo Beach in tact, and on time.
