I love how people try to over analyze stuff. Lets just go to the movie with an open mind ready for some cool stuff and not worry about the small stuff. It is going to be a summer blockbuster and I for one am going to love every moment of it. Regardless of some implied influence or not.

First of all we have to ask ourselves exactly how much star power Mr. Bale actually has. He wasn't the sole reason that the last two Batman movies were huge hits and Terminator Salvation isn't going to live or die on his presence alone. Bale's decision to star in the movie gave it a prestige it may not have otherwise had with this guy Worthington, who I'm still not 100% sold on going by the trailers and clips, being the lead. Since the character of John Connor has always been key to the Terminator mythology it would have been unwise to sideline him in this movie and base the entire story around this Marcus character who is completely new to the franchise. Frankly I'm a Bale fan and his being in this new Terminator film gives me hope.
