Disney has released the first teaser trailer for Tron 2, which is now officially titled Tron Legacy. The new title isn’t the best title in the world, but certainly a step up from other possible titles like Tr2n, Tron 2.0, and Tron.
The teaser trailer is actually the special footage that was shown at Comic Con last year, and is not even actually from the movie. The footage was created by director Joseph Kosinski to show how great today’s technologies could lend themselves to a Tron sequel. Disney obviously agreed and the rest is what you’d call history. No word yet on if this footage is so good that the whole movie was shot the same way, or if this is just a small taste of what the finished project will be. Kosinski is also attached to direct another reboot of a popular old title: Logan’s Run.

TRON Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (GARRETT HEDLUND), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (JEFF BRIDGES), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (OLIVIA WILDE), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.
