[Updated] ‘Harry Potter’ Star’s Nude Scene Confirmed For ‘Deathly Hallows’

Empress Eve   |    |

Daniel RadcliffeUPDATE: SnitchSeeker has discovered that Daniel Radcliffe will actually appear nude twice in the film.

Yates said, “There is another scene in Kings Cross station, where Harry almost dies and sees Dumbledore. In that scene he will also be naked.”

As with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, an additional scene not found in the book will be added to the film adaptation of Deathly Hallows. “It’s a scene where Hermione and Harry dance together and is not in the book – it’s something we created for the film and is actually very tender, very nice and respectful, and they also reveal some secrets about each other while dancing,” said Yates.

[End of Update]

Director David Yates has confirmed that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will appear nude in a scene in one of the installments of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The 20-year-old actor, who’s played the title role of the young wizard for six movies so far, will be in the nude for a scene with longtime co-star Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger.

No word whether the 19-year-old actress will be nude in the scene as well.

Yates gave Video Business a brief description of the scene.

In one scene, “a horcrux [carrying a piece of Voldemort’s soul] defends itself by producing nightmarish visions, and one shows Hermione and Harry embracing and kissing,” explained Yates. “It’s something intriguing and sensual for Rupert to react to, and Dan will be bare for that.”

It’s unclear whether the scene will occur in Part 1 of Deathly Hallows, due out in November 2010, or in Part 2, scheduled for July 2011. The scenario happens just around the midway point in the novel by J.K. Rowlings in the “Silver Doe” chapter (p. 377 in the U.S. hardcover edition to be exact), although there’s no mention of nudity in the book.

This won’t be Radcliffe’s first time baring it all for his craft. The actor appear in the nude for a famous scene in the London and New York stage production of the play, Equus.

  1. The Movie God Says:

The hell is this kid’s obsession with nudie frolicking?

They’ve been watching too much Twilight at Hogwarts.

  2. Matt Says:

I think I’d be more content with topless for Dan and not showing anything for Emma, that would make things awkward and nudity tends to overshadow some movies no matter how good the story or effects are.

  3. Empress Eve Says:

I have a feeling that when he says ‘nude’ he means we’ll see him topless and seemingly nude. I can’t believe that WB would be ok with them making Harry Potter nude.

  4. scrotumbagmonkeyflicker Says:

He’ll just have his wizard nips on display. No wizard wilkins on show.

  5. korollocke Says:

harry potter and the magic wand in hand?

  6. Mandy Says:

My only question is why? No where in the books does it talk about a nude scene. Its sad becasue Harry Potter has been one of the only amazing story lines that had nothing to do with sex, drugs, alchol and ect. but still made millions of dollars. I’ll still see the movie but I think the nude scene is pointless and is just a way of making more money.

  7. hurrhurr Says:

emma watson nude? O PLZ B TRU

  8. upthehil Says:

People are complaining that these scenes are not nude in the books, but that’s untrue. Go back and double-check, people.

  9. mohtzart Says:

    @ upthehil:

No where in the seventh book are the characters described to be nude. What another way to ruin a family friendly movie.

  10. jimmeh Says:

well… It definitely says Harry is nude at King’s Cross… And it’s definitely implied hes nude when he dives for the locket.

  11. Doralie Says:

Actually, it’s not so much as if they’re adding a scene, but rather visually portraying one of Ron’s biggest fears & one of the things the piece of Voldy inside the locket tries to exasperate in Ron.

It’s actually a very good touch.
