Of Pixar’s constant flow of brilliant movies, Cars is probably the least liked of the bunch. So when it was announced that they were actually making a Cars 2, this came as a bit of a surprise to many, especially considering that Pixar usually has nothing to do with sequels aside from the Toy Story franchise. Of their library, the top choice for a sequel would probably have been The Incredibles, which is naturally built for multiple installments.
But alas, it is Cars 2 that is on the way, and the very first piece of concept art has now been released onto the internet, and you can head to the bottom of this very post to check it out now!
Not many details for Cars 2 are known at the moment. What we do know is that all of the characters are set to return, and this time Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) will be involved in an intense race around the world, while Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) rescues a secret agent and gets mixed up in the world of spies. The movie is currently expected to be released sometime in 2011.

I loved Cars. But agree, it didn’t really seem like there was much room for a sequel.

I really enjoyed cars, but I don’t see any room or need for a sequel… but then again, when has that stopped Hollywood?
no one gives a shit about cars 1 much less wanting a cars 2. INCREDIBLES needs a sequel. Not cars.
