In Eclipse it is revealed that Brontë's 1847 novel is a favorite of Bella’s, the main character in the Twilight series.

Now, Hulu is streaming the 1939 film adaptation of Wuthering Heights online for free to residents of the United States. (You can watch the entire film here below.)

The black and white film, directed by William Wyler and produced by Samuel Goldwyn, starred Laurence Olivier as Heathcliff and Merle Oberon as Catherine. The movie is directed by Chris Columbus, who also directed Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. This is fitting, as The Lightning Thief has a definite Harry Potter vibe to it, only instead of wizardry, we have Greek mythology. It's definitely aimed at a teen/family audience, but also looks like it could be a lot of fun for all ages. The story follows a teenage boy who discovers that he is the son of god of the sea, Poseidon, and has to help to locate the lightning bolt of Zeus before a war breaks out amongst the gods.

Whether this looks like your cup of tea or not, you can't deny that Percy Jackson & the Olympians has a fantastic cast. Names include Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring) as Zeus; Steve Coogan (Tropic Thunder) as Hades; Ray Winstone (The Departed) as Ares; Uma Thurman (Kill Bill) as Medusa; Pierce Brosnan (The Matador) as Chiron; Rosario Dawson (Alexander) as Persephone; and Catherine Keener (The 40 Year Old Virgin) as the Jackson's mother, and Kevin McKidd (who has been in the news a lot lately) as Poseidon and Jackson's father. Since the last movie, the gang moved on to many different projects of their own. Bam Margera has had a few TV shows added to his resume with regulars like Ryan Dunn appearing often. Steve-O and Party Boy Chris Pontius had their show Wildboyz for a while, and Pontius has unexpectedly moved on to more serious acting roles, recently snagging a part in a future Sofia Coppola film. Johnny Knoxville hasn't appeared in nearly as many movies as it looked like he was building toward, but he and some other members of the cast and crew have begun other TV shows like MTV's Nitro Circus, which is just like Jackass, but with professionals, and just as entertaining if you're into that kind of "humans doing incredibly stupid things" kind of humor. Since Rome was canceled WAY too soon, not much has been spoken of it; but within the past year or so, Ray Stevenson began speaking of a possible movie that producer Bruno Heller wanted to make that would be based on the show. The very thought of this is immensely exciting for fans like myself who thirst for more of this merciless, graphic, semi-historically accurate series, but the situation would also be a tricky one as Rome was one of the most expensive shows ever made (the reason why HBO killed it so quickly), and most of its sets were destroyed (supposedly). Another tricky aspect would be the content -- as I've said before: the content on HBO included countless things that you would NEVER see in a theatrical production, so it would be difficult indeed. Recently, McKidd spoke to the NY Post about his current prospective projects, and Call of Duty came up. He confessed that he had no idea that the game would be so popular, and that now they're apparently toying with the idea of a movie based on the title. The New Moon cast is all over the tube in recent weeks, and last night was no exception. Jay Leno had the ab-tabulous Taylor Lautner on his couch last night (lucky, lucky man). Yet another New Moon clip was shared, this one highlighting Bella and Jacob at something of a turning point in their relationship…and let me just say, I’d plant a tree outside my bedroom window if I knew that’s what it would take for Taycob to pay me a little visit.

He promised that with 7,500 likes, he would release a second "treat," which he did, and then promised a the third treat would come after 9,000 more likes. These final two posters have now been released and you can check them out right here. They didn't exactly reach 9,000 to unlock the final poster, but as we said in the first post, the "likes" didn't likely matter much, and these were being put out no matter what.

One of the posters features Alice and the White Rabbit at one of the Hatter's lovely tea parties, while the other features the Hatter and the Caterpillar with a suspiciously familiar castle on the horizon. Looks just a little bit like the iconic Walt Disney castle, does it not?

The folks over at G4 gave us the heads up that Star Trek director JJ Abrams will be appearing on the cable network's Attack of the Show tonight at 7pm ET/PT.

During tonight's show, Alison Haislip will interview the director about the Star Trek DVD and Blu-ray, both of which will be released tomorrow, as well as the bonus features on the 3-disc Blu-ray edition. Abrams will also be talking about his favorite deleted scene from the film.

Gizmodo has discovered the location of the hidden R2-D2 in JJ Abrams' Star Trek.

George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic did the visual effects on Star Trek, which will be released on DVD/Blu-ray tomorrow, and they oftentimes like to insert the iconic Star Wars droid into their work. (They did it in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as well -- see here.) "Most people would want to be in a movie, but I sure didn't want anything to do with this one," admits Ford about the film, which has the working title of The Runaways. "They're using my name and that makes me nervous as some of the people involved have tried to destroy my career since 1980."

The film, written and directed by Floria Sigismondi based on Runaways singer Cherie Currie’s memoirs, stars Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett, Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie, and Scout Taylor Compton as Lita Ford, and is scheduled for theatrical release in 2010

Apparently, Ford's apprehension about The Runaways has changed a bit now that she's actually met the 20-year-old actress who will portray her in the movie. Compton made a special trip out to Harrah's in Lake Tahoe, Nevada last week to see Ford perform with Queensryche and to meet the musician. (See pictures from the meeting here.) It happens every year, almost without fail. Christmas day comes around and as I am tearing through my presents there is always that one gift. You know the one where the person giving it to you is so excited they hold it back so you have to open it last so they can make a big spectacle of it. Usually the bigger deal they make, the more I dread it. Not because I am ungrateful, but my appreciation hardly ever matches their excitement. Then there’s that whole awkward exchange where they think you don’t like it and you tell them you do but they don’t buy it because they were super excited but you weren’t as excited and… ugh. Robert Zemeckis’ adaptation of the Charles Dickens story, A Christmas Carol is that present. So impatient is he to show off his gift to us that he’s overlooked the fact that it’s little more than a big turd in fancy wrapping.

The story is the same as it’s been for the past 165 years. On Christmas Eve night, Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future during which time he experiences a moment of clarity and eventual redemption.
