Kevin McKidd is one of those actor who is incredible in all that he does, but isn't really known among those who haven't seen his works. The Scottish actor is best known as the main character of HBO's Rome, Lucius Vorenus, but he's been making a decent mark on more mainstream television series like Grey's Anatomy and the canceled Journeyman. Next year, he will play Poseidon in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, but right now, he's appearing in a less-visual role: Captain "Soap" MacTavish in the video game mega-hit Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Recently, McKidd spoke to the NY Post about his current prospective projects, and Call of Duty came up. He confessed that he had no idea that the game would be so popular, and that now they're apparently toying with the idea of a movie based on the title. This comes as no surprise to anyone considering how popular the games are, and considering the genre, it could absolutely work well in movie form. [...]

While on the set of his new movie, Steve Guttenberg spoke to WENN and dropped a mega-bomb on the unsuspecting world: Disney is developing a third movie in their Three Men and a Baby franchise called Three Men and a Bride. Wait, wait -- it definitely gets better. Guttenberg also claims that, he Ted Danson, AND Tom Selleck are all set to reprise their roles. Oh, thank you...thank you, God.

The 1987 original movie was a hugely popular hit back in its day. It followed a trio of friends who are living the bachelor life in a sweet bachelor pad before a mysterious baby shows up at their door that supposedly belongs to one of them. Hilarity ensues when these completely unfitting fathers attempt to care for the baby and of its glorious baby habits. The film spawned a sequel entitled Three Men and a Little Lady in which the mother comes back and plans to move the kid to London. [...]

Ever since fan-favorite director Quentin Tarantino made Kill Bill, there's been whispers every once in a great while that there could be more to the Bride's (Uma Thurman) story. The obvious remaining story would follow Vernita Green's (Vivica A. Fox) daughter, who Beatrix told to come find her when she grows up, and that is one of the two that have been rumored.

While on a talk show in Italy, Tarantino was asked about any possible sequels to Inglourious Basterds or Pulp Fiction that we might see. He answered that Basterds has a prequel story that could happen eventually, and that Pulp Fiction isn't going to happen. Tarantino then turned the tables to the woman interviewing him and told her she forgot to ask whether he would do a Kill Bill 3, so she did, and he answered "Yes," as the crowd went nutty. No one knows how serious he is about it, or when it could happen, but it looks like the story is there. After his promise of a one year delivery of Basterds actually happened, we have about a 50/50 shot of this going down. [...]

It's been sheer chaos in the world of Disney lately. It began with a ton of exciting announcements out of the D23 Expo, but was capped off with the shocking news that long time and much-loved Chairman Dick Cook was leaving, most likely due to being fired (Read: Unexpected Cherry On Top: Disney Chairman Dick Cook Fired? ‘Pirates 4′ Doomed?!). When this news broke, as you'll recall, it didn't take long before Cook's friend Johnny Depp shared his distaste for the news, and that he now wasn't so sure if he wanted to do Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides -- the fourth movie in Disney's mammoth franchise -- anymore.

To add to this madness, a source has told Cinema Blend that while there's a chance Depp will still do On Stranger Tides, he "definitely" will not be doing the fifth and sixth installments that they have planned for the franchise. It looks like Disney may have to throw a pile of the money at the most popular actor working today in order to will him back once more, but after that, they are saying that they would even go as far as replacing Captain Jack Sparrow with an entirely new character -- which would quite possibly be the ballsiest move ever made.
AICN has discovered that one single minute of the superhero mega-sequel Iron Man 2 have been converted to this new digital 3-D format that's storming the movie-making front. This one minute of 3-D footage is now being studied and pondered by all of the big wigs behind the project, who are also gauging what exactly it would cost to transfer the entire film into 3-D, and whether or not this is a step they want to take.

If this all goes smoothly and things look good, there's a chance that on top of this all, the studios may even go all-out and convert the original Iron Man to digital 3-D as well, and then re-release it in theaters to build up excitement before Iron Man 2 comes out on May 7, 2010.

The movies are directed by Jon Favreau and stars Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow. Joining the team for the sequel is Mickey Rourke, Don Cheadle, Sam Rockwell, and Scarlett Johansson [...]

Rumors seem to be in bloom as of late, and they're never fun because we just don't know how true or not they are. Sometimes these rumors happen to make a lot of sense, and even if not yet confirmed, they're worthy of mention.

Cue MarketSaw.

The 3-D focused website has word from what they call one of their "most trusted" sources that the much-talked about bridge movie that would connect The Hobbit to the Lord of the Rings trilogy may still be happening as a third movie. On top of that, the source claims that the god of Middle Earth himself, Peter Jackson, could be the one to direct the third film.

If you're not familiar with the tale, it began long ago when we were told that we would be getting two new movies in that world: one, an adaptation of The Hobbit, and a second one that bridged that world to Lord of the Rings. After months of speculation, we finally were informed that visionary master Guillermo del Toro would be taking up the reigns to direct the two films. [...]

A huge rumor set fire to the 'net yesterday, claiming that Brad Pitt had joined the cast of Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes as suspiciously-missing Moriarty. The report came from London's not-so-trustworthy tabloid, The Daily Mirror, and within hours, Warner Brothers had issued a statement denying the report.

No word yet on if the well-known villain will be cast at all in the movie. Considering it's an origins movie and they have a villain in Lord Blackwood (Mark Strong), one would assume that if Pitt (or someone like him) was cast as Moriarty, they would likely show up in Nick Fury fashion, at the end or after the credits, in order to set up the sequel. We already know that this has every intention of becoming a franchise, so it would make sense to do. Better yet, the statement issued by Warner Bros. confirms that they will be shooting some extra scenes for the movie, though they are still planning a Christmas Day 2009 release. So while the Brad Pitt report is completely false, it wouldn't be shocking if they were putting together some kind of Moriarty introduction cameo. [...]

A rumor that has been making the rounds is one that involves the possibility of a Who Framed Roger Rabbit sequel. Director Robert Zemeckis, while out promoting his motion-capture remake of holiday classic A Christmas Carol, revealed that with all this new technology and options, that he thought it might actually be time to finally revisit his insane cartoon rabbit. He even went as far as to promise that though some things might be computer animated or 3-D, Roger and the other cartoon elements would remain as cartoons. Zemeckis then spoke to AICN, and happily explained that he had talked to star Bob Hoskins plenty of times and that he would definitely be up for another go as stressed and depressed detective Eddie Valiant.

This happy news didn't last too long, though, as Hoskins himself has spoken to MTV News and pretty firmly stated that he wouldn't be returning for the movie.

Here's what Hoskins had to say while also out promoting Zemeckis's Christmas Carol, in which he appears as Fezzywig. [...]

To briefly recap on the story so far as we know it: Neil Blomkamp -- director of the upcoming District 9 -- was the first to attempt bringing Halo to the big screen. He even went so far as filming a live-action short video for Halo 3 promotion, and to show what the popular video game world could look like in live-action without any budget at all. The videos were great and the project was eventually put in motion with Peter Jackson acting as producer, but sadly, it became apparent that the budget would be way too large, and the Halo movie was put down Old Yeller style.

It really didn't look like this movie was ever going to get made, but we all may have assumed a bit too soon. IESB is reporting that Steven Spielberg himself may be the man to pull this project from the cold grasp of cinematic death and breathe that sweet, sweet life back into it. The news was confirmed multiple times that Spielberg is currently in "active negotiations" to develop the Halo movie himself. [...]

Quite the interesting little catch by MTV Movies Blog yesterday, who picked up on a small little bit in a New York Times feature on Tom Arnold. In the very last part of the story, they mention and offer quotes from Tom himself about an upcoming project that will involve himself, director James Cameron, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. That's right, Tom Arnold claims that the team behind the fantastic action/spy comedy True Lies will be joining up for a new project, while being a bit cryptic as to whether it will be a sequel to the 1994 movie, or if it will just be the same kind of premise.

Here's what Tom had to say about it:

All I know is Jim Cameron’s making it and Arnold [Schwarzenegger] and I are going to be in it, and it starts shooting in 14 months, the day after Arnold stops being governor of California. It’s not going to be called ‘True Lies II,’ but it might as well be. I can live with that.

The main thing to note here is that little thing about the 14 months. We all know James Cameron isn't a film-a-year kind of guy -- in fact, he seems to go more for the film-a-decade order. [...]

In this time of taking the beloved movies of our past and remaking every single one of them (some successfully; most in painfully failing fashion), it goes with all common logic that the titles that aren't being remade, would go ahead and make a sequel. After years of talking about a third Ghostbusters movie that we assumed would never come, it's now in motion, and now comes word that the sometimes talked about Gremlins 3 may be on the way, as well.

As we all know, Gremlins is about little creatures called Mogwai that have strict rules against sunlight, feeding them after midnight, and getting them wet. Breaking these rules can either kill them, or cause a terrifying transformation into little green monsters that will terrorize whoever them come into contact with. The first film is a classic in which the creatures destroy a little town at Christmas, while the sequel was a little less classic and had them taking over a gigantic business complex along with new, genetically mutated Gremlins who can speak and fly.

Both creator Chris Columbus, and director Joe Dante chimed in on word that the movie might take place. [...]

Word making its way out of San Diego Comic Con '09 is that the Futurama panel was a major downer and that none of the cast members who were expected to appear were present. Naturally, this all stems from the current salary dispute between the majorly-talented voice actors and 20th Century Fox, who recently put out a casting call for new voice actors in case no agreement is reached (Read: FOX Hates Your Guts With Every Single Inch Of Their Being; Possibly Looking To Re-Cast ‘Futurama’). It's being reported by Topless Robot that the only thing that came out of the Comic Con panel, was that show creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen basically just asked that we all cross our fingers and hope for the best, which we've all been doing for years now anyway.

Surprisingly, this isn't all that came out of the Con, though. IGN actually found Bender Bending Rodriguez himself, John DiMaggio, at Comic Con and was able to ask him where things stood. DiMaggio, in his typical outgoing and happy style offered his own personal view of what was going on and what he thought would happen. He even opened with a little song by a man named Elvis.
We all know that one of the more popular things to do in comic book movies (namely Marvel) is for superhero characters to do crossovers and make cameo appearances in other movies. For example: we saw Robert Downey Jr. appear briefly in The Incredible Hulk as Tony Stark. Also, Samuel L. Jackson appeared at the end of Iron Man as Nick Fury before going on to sign a 9-movie deal, which will see him showing up in a bunch of flicks as Fury. And with all of these Marvel movies heading toward one juggernaut The Avengers movie, it can only be expected that other crossovers will be taking place.

With all of these crafty Marvel cameos, it would only be natural for the other big comic book company that's making movies, DC Comics, to consider doing this as well.

A while back, Green Lantern co-writer Marc Guggenheim discussed the possibility that there may just be a cameo involved for a one Clark Kent. Recently, MTV Splashpage followed up on that possibility and asked Guggenheim where that idea stood.

The Leaky Cauldron apparently caught wind of this a long while back, but only now is it seemingly being confirmed by Nighy himself. Though the actor decided not to say who he would be player, experts are confident that he's a shoo-in for the role of Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour

Here is what Bill Nighy had to say:

I don't think I'm allowed to say it but I'm going to be in the next Harry Potter film. I won't say which character, but he's a goodie. I just got the gig.

When asked if he's even read the books, he explained "Not yet, but I will! It's rather like being in a Shakespeare that way, you know?" -- a quote that may have Potter fans nervous. [...]

As we all know, this past week or two has been incredibly unfortunate with the passing of many beloved celebrities, including David Carradine, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson. As depressing as all of this loss was, at one point in the chaos that occurred on the day that Fawcett and Jackson were lost, there were also various reports that actor Jeff Goldblum had also died after falling off a cliff in New Zealand while filming. This news never really seemed legit and we later found out that it was in fact false -- but it had actually gotten as far as foreign news programs reporting that police in New Zealand had confirmed it as true.

Taking advantage of the opportunity to bring a little laughter to us at a time where many are mourning, Stephen Colbert decided to report the sad demise of Jeff Goldblum on The Colbert Report while touching on the journalistic accuracy of Twitter.
This is about as simple and subtle a news story as there can be, but considering the topic, it is indeed well worth a mention.

While promoting Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen over in the U.K., the BBC was able to obtain a tiny little morsel out of star Shia LaBeouf in regard to potential next Indiana Jones movie. Oddly enough, you can actually hear everyone take a deep sigh while reading that last line. When asked about the next movie, LaBeouf seemingly announced that director Steven Spielberg had actually figured out what the next story would be and that he was "gearing up" for it. This of course does not confirm or guarantee another movie is going to actually be made, but consensus seemed to be: if they figured out a good enough story, they would be up for doing another movie.

After the critically crucified fourth installment in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, fans were enraged and heartbroken and it was all just a really large mess. If they do plan on making a fifth film, it's going to have to be remarkably better in order to win hearts back. [...]

This past February, the Marcus Nispel-directed Friday the 13th reboot was released to mixed criticism and mediocre box office numbers. Though these are never good things and a sequel has not yet been approved, fans of Jason Voorhees still hope for more movies and the franchise's producers are preparing for one. Thankfully, it can't hurt to have one of the wealthiest directors in the world in Michael Bay as one of your producers.

While on the set of the new A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot (both Friday and Nightmare are produced by Platinum Dunes), Shock 'Til Ya Drop spoke to producer Brad Fuller who shared where the potential sequel stands.
Bloody-Disgusting has on very good authority that a one Neil Marshall is close to signing on to direct Predators, another new horror reboot being produced by Robert Rodriguez and his Troublemaker Studios (Read: Robert Rodriguez To Direct ‘Predator’ Reboot; Confirms Himself For ‘Sin City 2′).

The movie is expected to be similar to the original Predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, but with some changes and what's certain to be a whole new look. One big change is that it appears that many Predators will be in the film instead of just one based on the brief description: “…a team of commandos face down a mysterious race of vicious monsters.”

Neil Marshall is best known for his cave-dwelling horror The Descent and the post-apocalyptic Doomsday. Fittingly, the main concern with this reboot will be how much CGI is going to be used -- if The Descent is any basis for comparison, then fans will be happy to know that Marshall can put together some creepy beasties without all that cheap computer animation. No CGI in this reboot would be its possible saving grace...that, of course, and the faithful R-rating that is essential to Predator movies. [...]

A lot of people are just flat sick of hearing about fanboy-favorite Firefly and its seemingly impossible resurrection. Even I, someone who very much loves and misses the show, sometimes hates reading rumors about the show or how it may one day return to us. None-the-less, every once in a while, you just need to buckle down and revisit the topic and where it may currently stand in this completely unfair and tragic hell that Firefly has been prisoner to for many years now.

TV By The Numbers has a great piece from The Nick C Blog on some of the options that exist for just such a thing to happen, as well as whether Joss Whedon's Dollhouse getting a second season helps Firefly out.

The most intriguing part of this article, is that the man who wrote it has apparently had plenty of contact with Fox and its people. The main question posed to them is as it always has been: is there any way that Fox would actually do what we hope and pray--yet highly-doubt would ever happen and bring back Firefly? Surprisingly, the answer seems to be "yes," if it were under the proper circumstances. [...]

While there's no real news here, the thought of something happening is sometimes pretty exciting. One of the more smile-inducing things that would get fans going, would be Bryan Singer returning to attempt to save the X-Men franchise -- a franchise which has been demolished since his wonderful X-2 with movies like X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

In an interview with Total Film Magazine, Singer was asked about the world of X-Men -- how he's seen it since leaving, and if he would like to return to it some day.

I’m eternally intertwined with X-Men now. What takes an audience four hours to watch - the first two movies - took six years of my life. So, to not be part of it….It’s a shame. It’s weird for me to watch [The Last Stand] because I’m so close to the universe. And also Brett is a good friend of mine. But, of course, I would love to return to that universe. [...]
