Empire Magazine has been throwing quite the birthday party for themselves after turning an impressive 20-years old recently. Along with some great movie stories and information, the magazine has now created The Cryptic Canvas, and they're inviting you to come on over and see if you have the ultimate movie knowledge it takes to de-crypt the cryptic!

Basically, it's one giant painting, and on this giant painting are 50 different things that depict a movie title. You look around, then click it on an image in the painting and a box opens where you type in the movie title. The site promises that all films come from the past twenty years to coincide with their 20th anniversary, but be warned, I did find at least one sneaky sneaky one that slipped in. I know your tricks, Dewey.

After figuring out that these weren't literally translated, I was personally able to get about half deciphered before hitting the proverbial wall. Since then it's been a slow, pecking process toward the completion of this master movie puzzle [...]

Video game fanatics. Web game fanatics. It's time to get your Terminator game on!

By now, we're all aware that the McG directed and Christian Bale starring Terminator Salvation is moving full steam ahead toward its May 21, 2009 release. To help build even more excitement for the movie by utilizing the massively-popular and still-growing "penny for your thoughts" website: Twitter. Terminator also has a new multi-console video game coming out as well. We all know the track record for movie-based video games, but it doesn't look too bad, so hopefully it will become a rare gem.

Here's how the game works:

In the Terminator Salvation Twitter game, members of the human resistance communicate with each other through Twitter and turn to the community for help in decoding intercepted Skynet transmissions. Players earn points through timely assistance in decoding these messages and, with these points, rise in rank within the Resistance Army. Players must constantly be on guard against the machines, which periodically and randomly choose a number of players and penalize them a percentage of their points. A companion blog augments the information within Twitter and hosts a leader board for the game. [...]
