It’s been a rumor for weeks, but official word today is that Shia LaBeouf has been cast in the fourth Indiana Jones movie.
Shia LaBeouf (Disturbia) has been cast in the fourth Indiana Jones movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
LaBeouf, who has until now denied that he was being considered for a role in the film, said:
I was hoping the rumors were true … To be cast in an Indiana Jones film is like grabbing the brass ring and holding on for the ride.”
While the rumors also stated that the actor was cast as the son of Indiana Jones, there’s no official word yet as to what character LaBeouf will play in Indy 4.
The fourth installment directed by Steven Spielberg will also star Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett and Ray Winstone and begins shooting in Los Angeles this June as well as in several undisclosed locations worldwide.
Producer George Lucas has said that they are still working on getting Sean Connery to return as Indy’s dad Dr. Henry Jones. Lucas also said he hopes to keep the film’s official title a secret until the trailer premieres around Thanksgiving time.
